OTHER USEFUL AIRPORT INFORMATION

  • Hotel airport check-in: Many of the hotels on the Strip, including Bally's, Caesars Palace, Flamingo, Four Seasons, Harrah's, Imperial Palace, MGM Grand, Paris, Rio, TI, Westin, and the Wynn, offer a service enabling you to print your boarding pass at the hotel. Sometimes a fee applies. The Venetian offers a service, in conjunction with McCarran airport, called Airport SpeedCheck Advance, which allows guests to bypass airport lines by receiving their boarding passes and checking their luggage directly on the property. The service costs $20 and is available from 5:30 am to 3:30 pm daily, via a check-in desk located in the Convention Center. Regular airport rules and regulations apply: Passengers must present valid ID and drop off luggage at least three hours prior to departure. The Luxor offers a similar service called Bags To Go. Downtown shuttle advice - codlta (03/31/2010) - 5 out of 5 stars
Important note: Be aware that SOME shuttles headed for "downtown" now include stops at all hotels north of the Venetian (TI, Hilton, Strat, Sahara, Riv) which can add quite a bit of time before you actually get downtown. ASK where the stops are before you get on so you won't be surprised - the shuttle concierge folks at the airport always imply that it will be a direct trip. Got on a Bell Trans "Downtowner" last week only to get stuck in Saturday afternoon traffic on the Strip in order to make a stop at TI! Oh, well - I did have a nice chat with some first-timers and gave them some tips, but if I had been in a hurry I would've been on tilt with the length of this ride! All in all, the shuttles are very good values - but I've taken the CAT 108 back and forth from McCarran and that works for me, too - but I ride public transport all the time in Chicago so I never get too upset by what I encounter on the CAT buses in Vegas!

Off Strip Hotel Shuttles - danster36 (01/22/2010) - 3 out of 5 stars
The airport shuttle listings to not include off-strip hotels. I believe they are served for an additional $1 over the strip hotel price. One word of warning is all the strip hotel customers will be dropped off first and the off-strip customers last. This can be over an hour delay after leaving the airport. Also on pickup, advance reservation is a must, the process is reversed. You would be first on and all the strip hotel customers would follow. Another hour.

Hotel bag checkin - paulaAZ (10/31/2009) - 5 out of 5 stars
Doesn't the Luxor have the same baggage check-in, boarding pass kiosk that the Venetian has? I have used the one at the Luxor in the past -- it's at the north entrance -- same thing, $20.00, ID needed, you can get your boarding pass printed there -- have to be there at least 3 hours (I believe) before your flight to enable time for bags to be transported to the airport.

From airport - M. Rose (10/15/2009) - 2.5 out of 5 stars
Your information is very through on the companies from what I see, but there are a couple of important questions that aren't answered. 1-Do the buses go all the way to the Stratosphere from the airport? Is the monorail within easy walking distance of the airport or the Stratosphere if we're dealing with luggage? How long does it take a bus to get to the Stratosphere? (so I can plan travel time round trip) As a traveler who has a 3 1/2 hour layover on a Tuesday in mid November. I'd love to go down the strip to the Stratosphere and back- perhaps have lunch. Thank you.
